Signature Hill Independent Substance Abuse Network

SH IRPN Perhaps no problem, is as big, pervasive, and destructive of our national strength, than substance-abuse. (Alcohol and drugs)
The biggest problem is that there are two of the biggest problems anyone can have (HEALTH and LEGAL) Even one exposure can cause an addiction cycle in which the body will violently react unless drugs or alcohol are administered in ever-increasing dosages. Most drug addicts do not want to be drug addicts. but without taking the abuse substance their body will eventually win the battle and make them repeat.

     A. The addicted person generally has few health options:
repeating the drug, Methadone, jail or death.

     B. In addition, to the hopeless health problem...
the addict often has serious legal problems.

WE BELIEVE THAT THE COMBINATION OF THE HEALTH AND LEGAL PROBLEMS CAN ACTUALLY CREATE A REALISTIC SOLUTION.

Welcome to Signature Hill. I am Angelo Papa attorney-at-law… former athlete, coach, teacher, assistant principal, prosecutor… and current defense attorney.

The diversity of my background should become relevant, after we spend a few minutes together.

Long before I became an attorney, I was committed to the concept that a person is a total person which includes physical, mental, spiritual, educational, vocational, emotional, sociological components, and related needs.

So the first challenge is to recruit a diverse group of independent professionals by some type of quality standard.

We created a registry of diverse specialists to facilitate advice in a particular need and created a minimal screening device to assure that the professional would be responsive, to a standard minimum level of consumer requirements.

After 21 years, I have determined in my own law practice that consumers are looking for characteristics that I have characterized into the following three categories:

  • Competence
  • Integrity
  • Work ethic

Years ago, I recognized that there are other professionals out there who share that concept of competence, integrity, and work ethic. I have endeavored over the years, to register them and provide an infrastructure for referral and case management in which they could work with consumers who have a diversity of needs.

I.            We began a search and recruiting mission for professionals in all academic and geographic areas who embrace similar business values. Members are (academically and geographically) diversified, “like-minded” professionals who are registered in SHPC the diversified Signature Hill Professional Consultants Registry.

Additionally, I started seeing reoccurring consumer demand with regard to a limited number of “core” consumer issues which almost always requires a diversified, approach to professional problem-solving from a group of professionals.

  • Substance Abuse
  • Real Property
  • Estate Planning and Management

Not only, did the consumer with a problem, one of these “core” areas need a diversified assessment, most often they also needed a comprehensive solution, arrived at only after pulling together diversified input action plans. Next, centrally directed implementation with documented follow up and follow through unprovided for the groups. The old adage, two heads are better than one.

II.             Next, we created an organizational plan, and began recruiting, training, and organizing academically and geographically related professionals from the diversified registry into regional and academic core teams.

  • SH ISAN  - Signature Hill Independent
                        Substance-Abuse Network
  • SH IEPN  - Signature Hill Independent
                        Estate Planning Network
  • SH IRPN  - Signature Hill Independent
                        Real Property Network

Geometrically, it follows that more “is” more.

However, in the real world, the logistical problems associated with organizing a group of independent professionals, for a group effort increases exponentially in direct proportion to the number of professionals involved.

Simply stated, the more diversified and larger the group, the more unlikely that it would be successful.

Many professionals, have never worked in a team setting in their life, and even if they would do so, group communication, and documentation, initiated within meaningful time frames, would be almost impossible.

We did not accept those obstacles, however, and have overcome those issues. In spite those challenges, we were absolutely captivated by the huge potential of finding a way to put a diversified team of professionals together.

The huge potential of a “team of professionals working together” was the driving force in our creation of a communication infrastructure, and centralized administration, marketing, and documentation system, to fully accommodate and facilitate our registry of willing professionals

In order for us to accomplish this, we would need to overcome several logistical problems, broken down as follows:

Communication Issues:

  1. A system whereby all communications between and among group members remain on display (to all) and accessible for a reasonable time.

  2. A system whereby busy professionals could communicate, even when schedules do not match.

  3. A system, which would enable large numbers to communicate at the same time.

  4. A system, which provided for on-going, documentation for task assignments, implementation, timelines, follow up, and follow through.

  5. A system where multiple individuals can participate in specialized or large groups.

III          We immediately tapped into a huge resources available on the internet and created, United States Professional Consultants. The director, eyes, ears, and mouth of SHPC is www.usapcnetworks.com

As we write this, we remain on… a search and recruiting mission for like-minded professionals who want to be part of our referral networks.
